History of the Institute
1948
In accordance with a Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR, based on a submission by the Ministry of Education of the Kazakh SSR dated February 10, 1948, the East Kazakhstan Institute for Advanced Training of Teachers was established on the basis of a methodological office under the regional department of public education.
1978
As a result of the All-Union Socialist Competition, the East Kazakhstan Regional Institute for Advanced Training of Teachers was declared the winner and awarded the Red Banner by the Ministry of Education of the USSR.
1989
The regional “Creativity” Club organized meetings on the topic of the Communard Methodology, aimed at its practical application and the study of ideas related to pedagogy of cooperation.
1996
By order of the regional education authority dated September 18, 1996, an experimental school with regional status was established at the Institute, based on the developmental learning system. Institute methodologists taught children using an activity-based primary education model. By the second year of study, students became winners of the International Olympiad in five subjects held in Moscow.
1998
In accordance with Order No. 10-k of the Department of Education dated February 3, 1998, the Institute for Advanced Training of Teachers was renamed the East Kazakhstan Regional Institute for Advanced Training.
1999
Pursuant to Order No. 212 of the Department of Education, the East Kazakhstan Regional Institute for Advanced Training was reorganized into the State Communal Public Enterprise “East Kazakhstan Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of Education Workers.”
2001
In June 2001, the first issue of the journal Pedagogical Bulletin of East Kazakhstan Region was published.
From March 2001, for 16 years, the Institute for Advanced Training of Pedagogical Workers, in cooperation with the Educational Institution “Ecobiocenter,” organized the scientific and practical conference “Regional Component in the System of Environmental Education,” with participation from institute staff, university scholars, teachers, and representatives of the East Kazakhstan Regional Department of Ecology.
2006
A Resource Center was established with the primary goal of responding promptly to current demands, state educational orders, and the evolving needs of educational organizations and teachers.
2009
The Institute was renamed the State Communal Public Enterprise “East Kazakhstan Regional Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of Education Workers” under the Education Department of the East Kazakhstan Regional Akimat.
2016
The priorities of Kazakhstan’s school education became infrastructure development and preparation for the transition to the updated curriculum. The experience of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools was disseminated. A foundation was laid for the phased transition to the updated content of secondary education. The State Educational Standard for primary education was adopted. Pilot testing of updated curricula was conducted in 30 schools nationwide, including Grade 1 classes at School No. 39 in Ust-Kamenogorsk and the Abai School in the Kokpekti District of East Kazakhstan Region.
2019
December 11, 2019, became a landmark date in the history of the East Kazakhstan branch of JSC “National Center for Professional Development ‘Orleu’.” On this day, the ceremonial opening of the Teacher’s House took place.
