History

October 22, 1965

Based on Resolution No. 688 of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR dated October 22, 1965, “On measures related to the implementation of the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR” on the abolition of the Tselinny Krai of the Kazakh SSR, the Tselinny Regional Institute for Teacher Advancement was reorganized into the Central Institute for Teacher Advancement of the Ministry of Education of the Kazakh SSR, located in Tselinograd. One of its main areas of activity was the professional development of senior educational management personnel of the Republic.

1966-1976

During 1966–1975, the Central Institute for Teacher Advancement (CITA) organized approximately 30 exhibitions at the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy of the USSR (VDNKh USSR), showcasing the experience of 24 schools, 4 departments of public education, and 12 preschool institutions. About 200 participants were awarded VDNKh USSR medals, and monetary awards totaling over 10,000 rubles were granted.
The Institute also held exhibitions in Japan, Egypt, Estonia, and Armenia, as well as organized Kazakhstan Week in Hungary. Within its permanent exhibition, materials were collected for demonstration and use in professional development courses, including 44 albums, 255 methodological developments, recordings of lectures by prominent scholars, and educational filmstrips produced by Institute staff on the IV Congress of Teachers of the Kazakh SSR and the II All-Union Congress of Teachers.

1976

The high quality of courses, seminars, and other educational events was ensured by the involvement of leading lecturers. By 1976, the Institute had an active pool of 800 lecturers and instructors, including 14 academicians and corresponding members of academies, as well as 25 Doctors of Science.

1996

In 1996, the Central Institute for Teacher Advancement was renamed the Republican Institute for Advanced Training of Educational Leaders and Research and Teaching Staff of the Education System (RIPK ELRTS).
Academic and Professional Engagement. Staff members of the Central Institute for Teacher Advancement and the Republican Institute for Advanced Training actively participated in all-Union pedagogical readings, scientific conferences, and seminars throughout the Soviet Union. Many renowned scholars and educators delivered lectures at the Institute, including Yu. K. Babansky, M. M. Potashnik, Sh. Amonashvili, and others.

 

1965-2020

From 1965 to 2020, more than 2.5 million heads of educational organizations from Kazakhstan and CIS countries completed professional development programs at the Central Institute for Teacher Advancement and the Republican Institute for Advanced Training.
