Abstract

The article discusses the current problem of improving the effectiveness of preparing 5th-6th grade students formathematical competitions in the modern education system. It substantiates the importance of developing students’mathematical culture, logical thinking, and the ability to solve non-standard problems at an early stage of education. Thearticle identifies a gap in the methodological development of systematically incorporating high-level complexity tasksinto the educational process of secondary school students. The purpose of this work is to develop and experimentallytest a comprehensive methodological approach to integrating high-level complexity tasks into the preparation of 5th-6th grade students for mathematical competitions. The study revealed that the systematic inclusion of high-level tasksin classroom and extracurricular activities, combined with the use of digital technologies and reflection methods, significantly increases both the level of Olympiad competencies and the motivation of students to study mathematics
